This website is part of a research project entitled 'HEAD: The promotion of emotional wellbeing'. Its purpose is to provide an introduction to the importance of emotional wellbeing and to challenge attitudes to mental ill health. You are vulnerable to emotional and mental distress, with at least 1 in 4 of us experiencing such distress at some time in our lives. We can all improve our emotional wellbeing, understand it better, nurture and look after it. How do you view mental health? What are the myths and truths? We all need to change our thinking and more importantly our behaviour.
The focus is to challenge our thinking and behaviour away from seeing only an illness and not the person. It also serves as a gateway to more specific portals of information and advice.Funding for this project was awarded by the University of Ulster Disability Sub-Committee, Supporting Inclusion Initiative. The Principal Investigator is Louise O'Boyle, Lecturer and Course Director of BDes Hons Art and Design (Foundation Year for Specialist Degree).
